Hello everyone,
Due to several user complaints, and to help maintain this site's primary purpose of being one of the key sources for legitimate information about The Wiggles' history, we'd like to announce that all articles labeled under the "Wigglepedia Fanon" name are being moved to its own, separate wiki.
One of the key complaints we've heard is that Fanon pages - while, by themselves, are harmless and well-meant - take up a great amount of space on this wiki, and directly contrast with our key purpose: serving as an honest and informative source for Wiggles fans and others seeking information about the group.
We've also heard from users that there have been instances of people mistaking Fanon articles as factual information - to be clear, this is NOT to say that anyone who has made a Fanon article has done anything wrong. The pages were clearly marked under the Fanon name and appropriate categories, and we're sure that this was simply an unintended consequence.
But nevertheless, a good amount of our users feel that moving these articles to their own wiki is the best move for this site. We apologize if this seems sudden - but we believe that this is something that needed to happen.
With that in mind, we are excited to formally introduce our new Wigglepedia Fanon sister site: https://wpfanon.fandom.com/wiki/Wigglepedia_Fanon
From this point on, Wigglepedia Fanon will be the place to post your fanmade Wiggles projects - they will no longer be permitted to be posted on this site.
Please do not be alarmed if you happen to notice your Fanon pages disappearing - they are currently in the process of being moved to the new site. All images are being preserved in their original quality, and proper credit is being given to the original creators - all existing Fanon content is very much being treated with a great amount of respect.
However, it's also worth noting that the Fanon pages will not exactly disappear off this site overnight - there are over 2,000 of them in total. Our team has been working hard, reuploading content and pages to make the move as easy as possible for Fanon creators - but, in total honesty, we've barely made a dent in them. It’s certainly a daunting task at first glance, but remember: the more people we have helping out, the easier it becomes - and the quicker we can pull off this move.
If you would like to begin transferring your own Fanon articles, or even assist with transferring other users' Fanon pages, we highly encourage you to do so (Please be sure to read the site's rules beforehand - it contains a section on how to credit the original creators and preserve images in their original quality). You are also more than welcome to add new Fanon articles there in the meantime.
We greatly appreciate your patience and support during this move, and we're very excited to see what everyone brings to Wigglepedia Fanon.
Keep wiggling,
The Wigglepedia Team
