Hsu as the Red Wiggle in 大家來Wiggle!.
Anni Hsu better known as “Momo”, (許慧盈, born 1971[1]) is a Taiwanese performer, musician, radio host, and civic activist best known for portraying the Red Wiggle in The Taiwanese Wiggles, the Mandarin-language adaptation of The Wiggles. In addition to her on-screen role, Hsu also provided the voice of Dorothy the Dinosaur in the group.
Prior to her involvement with the group, Hsu earned a degree in economics from a private university before pursuing graduate studies at Boston University, where she received a Master’s Degree in Educational Media. In 2002, Hsu auditioned for Disney’s Taiwanese production of The Wiggles, a localized version of the popular Australian children’s group and was cast as their Red Wiggle. She departed from the group in 2004 to focus on new opportunities in broadcasting and media. After leaving The Wiggles, Hsu joined Formosa Broadcasting Network (寶島聯播網) in 2007, first as a program planner and later as an on-air personality. She hosted music and talk programs for nearly a decade, building a devoted following and becoming one of the most recognizable voices in Taiwanese radio. In addition to her radio career, Hsu has worked as a news anchor, program producer, and television host, notably on Formosa Television’s Taiwan Studies series Taiyu Kong Sè-Sū (台語講世事), which focuses on civic discussion in the Taiwanese language.
Beyond entertainment, Hsu has become a prominent advocate for Taiwanese language revival and citizen participation movements. She currently serves as the Secretary-General of the Taiwan Civic Participation Association and a board member of the Lee Chiang-Quei Taiwanese Language and Culture Foundation.
