Bok the Hand Puppet is a Wiggly Friend who first debuted in Ready, Steady, Wiggle! Series 3, before playing a semi-bigger role as a supporting character in Fruit Salad TV.
Bok is a purple glove hand puppet of a bear with an orange bow-tie, googly eyes and "bok" on their body in big orange lettering. Bok does not speak and has no permanent performer; they have been shown being operated by any of The Wiggles. Bok lives in a small house with their name on the front door, as seen in Ballet Barre - Introduction to Ballet with The Wiggles.

Bok is a hand puppet and a timid character who displays emotions for children to empathize with. Bok is always enthusiastic and eager to learn.

Origins[]
Bok's origins date back to the early 90s before The Wiggles started, when Anthony Field, Murray Cook, and Greg Page were studying early childhood education at Macquarie University. Their professor, Rosemary Harle, had a clown puppet named Bok (short for "Boccherini") that was used in music lessons.[1]
Mascot Variant[]
Although Bok is primarily portrayed as a hand puppet, a full-body mascot costume of the character is used during live shows. The mascot version of the character also appeared in episodes of Series 4 and 6 of Ready, Steady, Wiggle!.

Trivia[]
- Bok also has their own Play Time on The Wiggles' YouTube channel, with help from each Wiggle, so far Anthony and Simon.
- Although social media posts and this article use they/them pronouns for Bok, they are still referred to using he/him pronouns in "Team Work", the Fruit Salad TV Big Show, "Is There Anything Bok Can't Do", and the Holiday Party Big Show Program.
- Bok was stated to be non-binary with the announcement of Fruit Salad TV[2] but it is possible Bok is actually genderfluid and uses he/they pronouns, however it is unconfirmed.
- They are the third LGBTQ+ character introduced.
- A toy of Bok was sold at the Holiday Party Big Show tour, and is almost identical to the real puppet, albeit with embroidered eyes instead of googly eyes.
