Brendan Nikolajew was an army veteran who had served as an artilleryman in Afghanistan.
Nikolajew was credited as a songwriter on the Lullabies with Love album. However, all his writing credits for the album were originally for Anthony Field, who replaced his name with Nikolajew's in order to allow him and his family to collect songwriting royalties and financially support themselves during his struggle with testicular cancer for much of his later life.[1]
Nikolajew died on July 27, 2021 at the age of 29 after losing his battle with cancer. He was married to Leah Nikolajew and had two children, Georgie and Roman.
