Ferrie and Dorothy the Dinosaur.

Carolyn Ferrie (born June 21, 1967) [citation needed] is a South Australian actress and opera singer who has performed the voice of Dorothy the Dinosaur on numerous Wiggles albums, videos, and television series.

Outside of working with The Wiggles, Ferrie is known for regularly performing in musical theatre, having appeared in the original casts of major Australian productions such as Phantom of the Opera, The Secret Garden and Sound of Music and in other productions of shows such as Fiddler on the Roof, CATS, Sydney Stories, and Tell Me On A Sunday. She has also appeared in television series such as Here’s Humphrey and the soap opera Neighbours (as Cassandra Boyle)

Career with The Wiggles[]

In 1996, Ferrie was working with founding Wiggles member Anthony Field, who was producing a production of the musical Haste to the Wedding. Shortly before the filming of The Wiggles Movie, she was asked to try out for the voice of Dorothy due to the character playing a big part in the film, eventually landing the role after working on several iterations of the character's famous laugh. Her first performance as Dorothy was heard in the 1997 concert video Wiggledance! and her last performances in the role were heard on the Dorothy the Dinosaur Meets Santa Claus album and video special, although pre-recorded audio of her as Dorothy continued to be reused during live concerts until 2018.

In addition to voicing Dorothy, Ferrie also portrayed several guest characters in series one of The Wiggles and played Queen Isabella in The Kingdom Of Paramithi.
