Disney Channel is a television channel that is broadcast in Australia and New Zealand. It is mainly aimed at children and their families. The channel launched in 1996.
Unlike other non-pay television networks such as ABC Kids, there are no commercial breaks for the programs such as the shows and specials.
In 1997, Disney Channel launched The Wiggles in a short series entitled Let's Wiggle. Airings of their eponymous television series would follow the very next year along with television specials like The Wiggles in Disneyland and The Wiggles Big Show.
The channel was shut down in New Zealand in 2019 and in Australia in 2020 due to the launch of the streaming platform Disney +.
