
Don Arioli (2 September 1936 – 4 October 2005) was an American-Canadian writer, animator, and actor who served as the writer of Series 2 of The Wiggles. At the time of the series' production, he was based in England and nominated by ITV to serve as series writer as part of a production deal.[1]
Initially born in New York, Arioli later moved to Montreal in 1960 and joined the National Film Board of Canada in 1966, where he wrote, directed, storyboarded, performed in, and did animation for various short films, most notably writing The House That Jack Built, Propaganda Message, and Hot Stuff, all of which won or were nominated for various awards.
Other notable credits included doing animation and voice work for various segments on Sesame Street, co-creating British television series Wizadora, and writing for various children's shows such as Shining Time Station, The Busy World of Richard Scarry, and A Bunch of Munsch, as well as penning the story for the Looney Tunes shorts Chariots of Fur and Another Froggy Evening.
On October 4th, 2005, Arioli passed away from prostate cancer at the age of 69. He was the father of Juno-nominated jazz singer Susie Arioli.
