Dorothy the Dinosaur's Birthday Party Tour was performed to promote the Yummy Yummy album. Most concerts were performed as "Dorothy the Dinosaur's Birthday Party", a pantomime which also featured "Greg the Magician" and "Vanessa the Dancer", and may have been similar to the short story on the Yummy Yummy video, as some photos showing the same backgrounds from said short, as well as the prop for Jeff's birthday cake. Some standard Wiggles concerts were also performed. The Dorothy's Birthday Party shows formed one of the longest running Wiggles tours, first mentioned in December 1993 and last mentioned in January 1995. The December 1994 concerts at the Seymour Centre were referred to as "Dorothy the Dinosaur's Circus Adventure". Little is known about what these concerts were like. This is the first time The Wiggles performed special December concerts at the York Theatre, Seymour Centre. They would go on to do this in 1995 and 1996.

Trivia[]

  • Greg Page mentions in his book, Now and Then, that The Wiggles became burnt out after playing everyday for 21 days in a row in 21 different suburbs for the January 1994 tour of Victoria and that The Wiggles resolved to have a more reasonable approach to touring after the experience.
  • This is one of the first Wiggles tours to use headset mics instead of stand-up microphones.
  • It's currently unknown how many shows throughout 1994 were Dorothy's Birthday shows and despite some confirmed 'regular' concerts, references to Dorothy's Birthday concerts occur quite consistently from December 1993 to January 1995.
  • This is the first and to date only (not counting the ones from the Dorothy the Dinosaur spin off) Wiggles concert to be story based.
  • In some promotional material, 'The Wiggles' are referred to as a six-piece performing group, to include Emma Buter and Sue McAuley.
