The third and final series of the Dorothy the Dinosaur franchise contains twice the amount of episodes as the previous series. This series takes quite a departure from the previous two in terms of format. Although episodes feature many similar plots, as Dorothy is visited by her friends or goes with one to another location, the presentation is very different. Episodes are now narrated by Kendall Goddard, with no songs or dialogue from any of the characters, other than a brief song of Dorothy calling a friend each episode. Dorothy now has a car and plane she uses to get to new locations, which are usually other countries such as France and Italy.
Emma Pask takes over as voice of Dorothy, while Brad Carroll is now portrays Captain Feathersword. The Fairies are now joined by young Elf Antonio, played by Anthony's son and Lucia and Maria’s younger brother Antonio Field. Production began in 2010 sometime before and/or after production of Let's Eat!. Unlike the first two series, this series gets a lot of negative reviews from critics, who criticize no dialogue from characters, Captain Feathersword not being portrayed by Paul Paddick, Dorothy's little song, the narration, the new storyline, and the screenplay, so the producers decide to cancel the second season's plans. This series aired on ABC2 as a part of Wiggly Waffle.[3]
Episodes 27-52 are currently lost media, but it's hoping they will be found soon.

On iTunes, the latter is presented as one 3 hour long video, episodes can not be played individually.
The Blu-ray edition of Let's Eat! contained an episode of Series 3, marking one of the only times a Dorothy episode has been available to purchase in HD. and the only episode of Series 3 to be used as an extra on a Wiggles DVD or Blu-Ray.
Trivia[]
- Although not appearing in this series, 3 of The Wiggles provided the music for Series 3, Murray Cook on Guitar, Jeff Fatt on Keyboards and Anthony Field on the Bass and Bouzouki.
- An early version of Vive la France! (at the time titled "Dorothy Goes to France") was released on the Let's Eat! Blu-ray and Wiggle Treats! DVD, both ahead of Series 3's TV debut in September 2010. Both of these appearances differ from the final released version, as Jennifer Taipari voices Dorothy.
- It's possible that the reason why this series ended is that many people wanted more series starring and focused on The Wiggles themselves.
- The photo of Fairy Castle from Series 3 would later be seen in the Apples & Bananas Tour.
- The series aired on Sprout during the Sprout's Dino-Mite Valentine’s Sing-Along block on Valentines Day in 2010 and 2011.[4] However, It wasn't part of Sprout's Main Lineup, and was exclusive to Sprout-On Demand starting March 12 of that same year when the Special Block came out.[citation needed]
