Plot[]

Intro - where the Taiwanese Wiggles and The Wiggly Friends are in Wiggly Animation setting up a show together.

The Taiwanese Wiggles greet everyone and introduce themselves, but they realize that their friend Danny is asleep. They wake him up by counting to 3 and saying "Wake up, Danny!" in English and tell him that they need him because they want to wiggle with everybody.

Song #1: Get Ready To Wiggle

Samuel tells everybody it’s an exciting time because their TV show is about to start. He invites the viewers to do the actions to a new dance called "Lights, Camera, Action, Wiggles!".

Song #2: Lights, Camera, Action, Wiggles!

Dorothy shows off her dance moves to Danny. He asks Dorothy if she wants to dance with everybody.

Song #3: Dorothy (Would You Like To Dance?)

Vivi asks Samuel what time it is. She says it’s time for the “Wiggly Little Animation Theatre”.

Song #4: Uncle Noah's Ark - (Wiggly Animation)

Arthur is with some of his young friends who are playing with clay. He demonstrates how you can roll it and mash it. Most of all, hammering the clay is so much fun!

Song #5: Joannie Works With One Hammer

Vivi tells everyone that it's a very special time because the Wiggles are about to sing a song. They quickly realize that Danny is asleep, stating that they need him for the next song. At first, the Wiggles and the audience are able to wake up Danny by using English. They count to three and say "Wake up, Danny!". However, Danny quickly falls back asleep. Samuel proclaims that they need a new way to wake Danny up, hinting to the audience that they need an idea. Samuel says that everyone thinks they should sing a song to wake Danny up.

Song #6: Wake up, Danny

Arthur notices Samuel crawling around near a picnic basket. He inquires what Samuel's doing, to which he replies that he's pretending to be a little ant at a picnic. Arthur tells Samuel that he must be a really big ant. Samuel then tells everyone that the song they’re about to sing is about a little brown ant.

Song #7: Little Brown Ant - (Wiggly Animation)

The Taiwanese Wiggles are out for a walk. They talk about how much they love walking, and what great exercise it is for your body. Vivi says that you can see lots of things when you're out walking, such as birds, bees, flowers, and trees. She then tells everyone that when they're not walking, they're driving around in the Big Red Car.

Song #8: Let's Go (We're Riding In The Big Red Car)

Arthur is telling the viewers that it's a very special time, but he is interrupted by something tickling him. Danny, Vivi and Samuel are tickled soon after. It turns out that Captain Feathersword was tickling them all with his Feathersword. Samuel invites everyone to say "Ahoy there, Captain Feathersword.". Arthur tells Captain that it's good to see him, but Captain proceeds to tickle him. Arthur asks Captain if he was the one tickling him, which Captain denies. Arthur turns to everyone for help, asking if Captain was tickling him. The viewers reply yes, and Arthur asks Captain to stop his tickling, to which Captain obliges. However, as soon as Arthur starts talking again, Captain immediately tickles him. Arthur once again asks Captain if he was tickling, which he denies. Arthur asks everyone if Captain tickled him again, and they reply yes. Arthur thanks everyone and asks Captain once more to stop tickling. Captain agrees to stop, because they're about to do a pirate dance. Captain invites everyone to join in.

Song #9: Captain Feathersword

Samuel is seen sweating in the Wiggly Lounge Room. Arthur walks in and asks Samuel what's wrong. Samuel tells Arthur that he's feeling really hot and thirsty. Arthur then asks Samuel if he would like a glass of water. It's cool, clean, delicious, and assures that it will make him feel better. Samuel proclaims that it's a great idea and takes a drink of water. Feeling refreshed, Samuel introduces the next song entitled "Gulp Gulp".

Song #10: Gulp Gulp - (Wiggly Animation)

Arthur and Danny are wearing party hats. Arthur invites everyone to do the "Wiggly Party" dance with them, and shows the viewers how to "stamp, stamp, stamp, clap, clap, clap, wiggle your hips just like that". After watching Arthur demonstrate the actions, Danny asks him if he can join in as well, to which Arthur replies that of course he can. Everyone does the actions together a couple more times, and Arthur invites everyone to join them at their "Wiggly Party".

Song #11: Wiggly Party

Arthur introduces Henry the Octopus, and asks everyone to say "Hi, Henry." Henry says "hi" back to everyone, and Arthur proclaims to Henry that he looks rather excited today. Henry says that he's very excited, and Arthur asks why. Henry states that he's excited because they're about to hear a song from his Underwater Big Band. Arthur becomes excited and begins to spin around and dance. Henry asks Arthur what's up with him, to which Arthur replies that he's excited too because the Big Band is about to start playing, and he can't wait to hear the next song.

Song #12: Henry's Underwater Big Band - (Wiggly Animation)

Danny tells everyone that he's brought his guitar with him. He invites everyone to bring their guitars, as well. Danny says to make sure that the guitars can make sound, and he plays the opening riff of "Go Captain Feathersword, Ahoy!" Danny compliments the viewer's guitar playing, and invites them to play the guitar together.

Song #13: Play Your Guitar With Danny

Danny tells everyone that they're about to sing a song about a steam train, like the one behind him. He states that they're going to call the steam train the "little train". He invites everyone to sing along and do the actions, and to join them for a ride on the "little train".

Song #14: Pufferbillies - (Wiggly Animation)

Arthur tells the viewers that they're going to sing a song called "Brown Girl in the Ring". It comes from a traditional Carribean game, and you can choose whoever you want to be in the "ring", and that you can use any name. He then invites everyone to sing along to "Brown Girl in the Ring".

Song #15: Brown Girl In The Ring

Samuel is in the Wiggly Kitchen stirring a pot. Danny asks Samuel what he's doing. Samuel talks about how much he loves to eat, and that he's cooking a special soup. He wants to put vegetables in it and make "Vegetable Soup". The others like the idea, but Samuel claims that there's a problem. He doesn't know what kinds of vegetables to put in it. Danny reassures Samuel, saying that he has some ideas for vegetables that he could put in it. He suggests that he start off with a tomato. Then, he says that they could put in an onion. Then, Danny suggests putting zucchini or pumpkin in the soup next. Samuel proclaims that he didn't know zucchinis could be used for soup. Danny proclaims that finally, they can put in some garlic. He then says that if you put all those vegetables into the pot, they can have vegetable soup.

Song #16: Vegetable Soup - (Wiggly Animation)

Vivi introduces Clare, an Irish dancer. She talks about the uniform Clare's wearing, specifically her black dress, the flowers in her hair, and her dancing shoes. Clare then shows off some Irish dancing steps. Vivi proclaims that Clare is a very professional dancer, and tells everyone that they're going to watch Clare and her friends, Molly, Dana and Rachel, dance to "Di Dicki Do Dum".

Song #17: Di Dicki Do Dum

Arthur is with some children, making paintings using paint droppers. While demonstrating the droppers to the viewer, he notices that it looks a bit like rain.

Song #18: I Love It When It Rains

Vivi introduces Captain Feathersword, the friendly pirate. She invites everyone to say "Ahoy there, Captain Feathersword." Vivi then tells Captain that it's great to see him. She talks about how his sword is made out of feathers, and how it's only used for tickling people. Captain admires his Feathersword, and proclaims "Well, blow me down!" in English. Vivi takes Captain's exclamation literally and blows in his direction, causing him to fall toward the ground. Vivi asks Captain if he's alright, to which Captain reassures Vivi that "he's okay". Vivi goes back to her earlier point, saying that Captain's sword is made out of feathers and only used for tickling people. Once again, Captain admires his sword and proceeds to shout "Well, blow me down!". Again, Vivi literally blows him toward the ground, and asks Captain if he's alright. Captain tells Vivi not to worry, and that he is okay. Out of concern for Captain's safety, Vivi asks Captain to stop saying that phrase. Captain asks what phrase Vivi wants him to stop saying. Vivi says that she's asking Captain to stop saying "Well, blow me down!". Taking Vivi's response literally, Captain blows in Vivi's direction, causing her to fall to the ground. Vivi then realizes the irony behind what just occurred, proclaiming "Oh, Captain!"

Song #19: Go Captain Feathersword, Ahoy!

Song #20: Take a Trip Out on the Sea - (Wiggly Animation)

Trivia[]

  • The DVD release of the video features significant visual artifacts, specifically oversharpened edges and noticeably desaturated colour.
    • A 2008 ABC News story discussing the possibility of franchising the group in Mainland China shows footage from what is presumed to be the actual master, which shows the original colour grading.[2]
  • All transitions in the video were originally used for the Latin American adaptation of "The Wiggles Show!".
    • Regarding transition graphics that were used in TV Series 4 (i.e. the "Rainbow Guitar" and "Double Feathersword" transitions), what was originally designed to fit into a 16:9 display has been resized to fit into a 4:3 display, which allows for more of the transition to be visible when viewed in 16:9.
    • Whether the original transition files were stored in a wider aspect ratio than 16:9, or they were modified during post production for the international series is unclear.
  • This is the only Taiwanese Wiggles video to be produced in-house in Australia by The Wiggles themselves.
    • Dancers and cast members from the Australian Wiggles team appear in the video; some of them are seen speaking select Mandarin lines (i.e. Clare Field).
  • The S.S. Feathersword scenes in Captain Feathersword, the prologue for Pufferbillies and the bonus animal segments were filmed at Dreamworld.
  • Captain Feathersword is portrayed by Kaeng Chan in this video.
  • In the introduction to "Uncle Noah's Ark", Vivi introduces the animation segment as "Wiggly小小動畫劇場" ("Wiggly Little Animation Theatre").
    • "Uncle Noah's Ark" is the only animated song to be introduced specifically as a "Wiggly Animation".
  • Jeff Fatt and Katty Villafuerte are seen as Wiggly Dancers in this video.
  • This is the only Taiwanese Wiggles video:
  • The video's opening sequence is animated, with title cards for the Mandarin Wiggles being shown in the following order: Arthur, Danny, Vivi and Samuel. Arthur is also shown holding paperwork with the names listed.
  • The tune to "Uncle Noah's Ark" is A instead of G, just like with The Latin American Wiggles.
  • A copy of this DVD was on display at the now-defunct Wiggles Exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum.
  • The background illustration from Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport is reused in Joannie Works With One Hammer, as well as the prologue for Brown Girl In The Ring.
  • Most of the song introductions hard cut to their respective songs; however, "Henry's Underwater Big Band", "Pufferbillies" and "Di Dicki Do Dum" are exceptions to this.
  • "Di Dicki Do Dum" features the exact same visuals as the music video seen in the Latin American version of "The Wiggles Show!".
  • "Take a Trip Out on the Sea" is the only song to not have a prologue.
  • This video did not feature a ending scene, as was usually done at the time; instead, it immediately transitions to the credits after "Take a Trip Out on the Sea".
  • The Wiggles didn't say goodbye at the end of this video.
  • The "好戲上場" tagline translates to "It's Showtime" in English; so the full title of the special could be translated as "Lights, Camera, Action!: It's Showtime!"
  • Arthur later became a cast member for the Australian Wiggles from 2008-2014.
  • This video was released after Greg Page left.
  • Danny uses Murray's red Maton EM225C as Maton thought that purple EM225Cs would be too expensive to produce.
  • This included the Bonus CD Sampler, which listed the artist as the 'Chinese Wiggles' when you inserted into a computer.
