Intro – The Taiwanese Wiggles and the Wiggly Friends appear in Wiggly Animation, preparing to set up a show together.
The Taiwanese Wiggles greet the audience and introduce themselves, but notice that their friend Danny has fallen asleep. To wake him, they count to three and call out “Wake up, Danny!” in English, reminding him that they need him so everyone can start wiggling together.
Song #1: Get Ready To Wiggle
Samuel tells everybody it’s an exciting time because their TV show is about to start. He invites the viewers to do the actions to a new dance called "Lights, Camera, Action, Wiggles!".
Song #2: Lights, Camera, Action, Wiggles!
Dorothy shows off her dance moves to Danny. He asks Dorothy if she wants to dance with everybody.
Song #3: Dorothy (Would You Like To Dance?)
Vivi asks Samuel what time it is, and she tells him it’s time for the “Wiggly Little Animation Theatre.”
Song #4: Uncle Noah's Ark - (Wiggly Animation)
Arthur is with some children who are playing with clay. He demonstrates how it can be rolled, mashed, and, most importantly, how much fun it is to hammer the clay.
Song #5: Joannie Works With One Hammer
Vivi announces that it’s a very special moment because The Wiggles are about to sing a song. They quickly notice that Danny is asleep and mention that they need him for the next number. Everyone tries waking him by counting to three and saying “Wake up, Danny!” in English, but he soon falls back asleep. Samuel suggests that they need a new way to wake Danny, hinting to the audience for help. He then explains that everyone believes singing a song might be the best way to wake him up.
Song #6: Wake up, Danny
Arthur notices Samuel crawling near a picnic basket and asks what he’s doing. Samuel explains that he’s pretending to be a little ant at a picnic. Amused, Arthur remarks that he must be a very big ant. Samuel then tells everyone that the next song is about a little brown ant.
Song #7: Little Brown Ant - (Wiggly Animation)
The Taiwanese Wiggles go out for a walk and talk about how much they enjoy it, noting that walking is great exercise for the body. Vivi adds that you can see many things while walking, such as birds, bees, flowers, and trees. She then explains that when they’re not walking, they like to travel in the Big Red Car.
Song #8: Let's Go (We're Riding In The Big Red Car)
Arthur tells the viewers that it’s a very special time, but he’s suddenly interrupted by something tickling him. Danny, Vivi, and Samuel are all tickled next, and it’s soon revealed that Captain Feathersword is playfully using his Feathersword. Samuel invites everyone to say, “Ahoy there, Captain Feathersword!” Arthur greets the Captain, but is immediately tickled again. When Arthur asks if Captain was the one tickling him, Captain denies it, prompting Arthur to turn to the audience, who confirms it was. Arthur asks him to stop, but as soon as he begins speaking, Captain tickles him once more. After another round of denial and confirmation from the viewers, Arthur finally convinces Captain to stop just in time for Captain to announce a pirate dance and invite everyone to join in.
Song #9: Captain Feathersword
Samuel is shown sweating in the Wiggly Lounge Room when Arthur walks in and asks what’s wrong. Samuel explains that he feels hot and thirsty, so Arthur offers him a glass of cool, clean water, assuring him it will help. Samuel agrees, takes a drink, and feels refreshed. He then introduces the next song, “Gulp Gulp.”
Song #10: Gulp Gulp - (Wiggly Animation)
Arthur and Danny are wearing party hats as Arthur invites everyone to dance the “Wiggly Party” with them. He demonstrates the moves; “stamp, stamp, stamp, clap, clap, clap, wiggle your hips just like that.” After watching, Danny asks if he can join in, and Arthur enthusiastically agrees. They repeat the actions together, and Arthur encourages everyone to join them at their Wiggly Party.
Song #11: Wiggly Party
Arthur introduces Henry the Octopus and invites everyone to say, “Hi, Henry.” After Henry greets them, Arthur notices how enthusiastic he looks and asks why he’s so excited. Henry explains that his Underwater Big Band is about to perform a song. Delighted, Arthur begins spinning and dancing, explaining that he’s excited too and can’t wait to hear the band play.
Song #12: Henry's Underwater Big Band - (Wiggly Animation)
Danny tells everyone that he’s brought his guitar and encourages them to bring theirs too. He reminds viewers to make sure their guitars can make sound, then plays the opening riff of “Go Captain Feathersword, Ahoy!” Danny praises the viewers’ playing and invites them to strum along with him.
Song #13: Play Your Guitar With Danny
Danny tells everyone that they’re about to sing a song about a steam train, like the one behind him. He explains that they’re calling it the “little train” and invites everyone to sing along, do the actions, and join them for a ride on the little train.
Song #14: Pufferbillies - (Wiggly Animation)
Arthur tells the viewers that they’re about to sing a song called “Brown Girl in the Ring.” He explains that it comes from a traditional Caribbean game, where you can choose anyone’s name to be in the “ring.” He then invites everyone to sing along.
Song #15: Brown Girl In The Ring
Samuel is in the Wiggly Kitchen stirring a pot when Danny asks what he’s doing. Samuel explains that he loves to eat and is making a special soup, but he doesn’t know which vegetables to include. Danny reassures him and begins suggesting ingredients: tomato, onion, zucchini or pumpkin, and finally garlic. Samuel is surprised to learn that zucchini can be used in soup, and Danny explains that with all those vegetables combined, they’ll have a perfect “Vegetable Soup.”
Song #16: Vegetable Soup - (Wiggly Animation)
Vivi introduces Clare, an Irish dancer, and describes her outfit, noting her black dress, floral hair accessories, and dancing shoes. Clare demonstrates some traditional Irish dance steps, and Vivi praises her as a very professional dancer. She then invites everyone to watch Clare and her friends; Molly, Dana, and Rachel perform to “Di Dicki Do Dum.”
Song #17: Di Dicki Do Dum
Arthur is with a group of children, creating paintings using paint droppers. As he demonstrates the technique, he observes that the drops look a bit like falling rain.
Song #18: I Love It When It Rains
Vivi introduces Captain Feathersword, the friendly pirate, and invites everyone to say, “Ahoy there, Captain Feathersword.” She points out his feathersword, explaining that it’s only used for tickling. Captain proudly admires his sword and exclaims, “Well, blow me down!” which Vivi takes literally, blowing him over. After assuring her that he’s fine, he repeats the phrase and falls again. Concerned, Vivi asks him not to say it anymore, but when she repeats the words herself, Captain blows her over in return, leaving Vivi to exclaim, “Oh, Captain!”.
Song #19: Go Captain Feathersword, Ahoy!
Song #20: Take a Trip Out on the Sea - (Wiggly Animation)
Trivia[]
- The DVD release of the video features significant visual artifacts, specifically oversharpened edges and noticeably desaturated colour.
- A 2008 ABC News story discussing the possibility of franchising the group in Mainland China shows footage from what is presumed to be the actual master, which shows the original colour grading.[2]
- All transitions in the video were originally used for the Latin American adaptation of The Wiggles Show!.
- Regarding transition graphics that were used in TV Series 4 (i.e. the "Rainbow Guitar" and "Double Feathersword" transitions), what was originally designed to fit into a 16:9 display has been resized to fit into a 4:3 display, which allows for more of the transition to be visible when viewed in 16:9.
- Whether the original transition files were stored in a wider aspect ratio than 16:9, or they were modified during post production for the international series is unclear.
- This is the only Taiwanese Wiggles video to be produced in-house in Australia by The Wiggles themselves.
- Dancers and cast members from the Australian Wiggles team appear in the video; some of them are seen speaking select Mandarin lines (i.e. Clare Field).
- The S.S. Feathersword scenes in Captain Feathersword, the prologue for "Pufferbillies" and the bonus animal segments were filmed at Dreamworld.
- Captain Feathersword was portrayed by Kaeng Chan in this video.
- In the introduction to "Uncle Noah's Ark", Vivi introduces the animation segment as "Wiggly小小動畫劇場" ("Wiggly Little Animation Theatre").
- "Uncle Noah's Ark" is the only animated song to be introduced specifically as a "Wiggly Animation".
- Jeff Fatt and Katty Villafuerte are seen as Wiggly Dancers in this video.
- This is the only Taiwanese Wiggles video:
- To feature Vivi and Samuel as Wiggles.
- To not feature Anni or Carlos as Wiggles.
- To not feature Wigglehouse or Captain segments.
- To feature Arthur as the yellow Wiggle.
- To feature mid-2000's era skivvies and belt buckles.
- To be filmed and released in 16:9 widescreen.
- To be distributed by Catalyst Logic.
- To feature a credits sequence.
- The tune to "Uncle Noah's Ark" is A instead of G, just like with The Latin American Wiggles.
- A copy of this DVD was on display at the now-defunct Wiggles Exhibition at the Powerhouse Museum.
- The Wiggly Animation songs for "I Climb Ten Stairs", "I'm a Cow" and "Five Little Ducks" do not appear in this video at all.
- The background illustration from "Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport" is reused in "Joannie Works With One Hammer", as well as the prologue for "Brown Girl In The Ring".
- Most of the song introductions hard cut to their respective songs; however, "Henry's Underwater Big Band", "Pufferbillies" and "Di Dicki Do Dum" are exceptions to this.
- "Di Dicki Do Dum" features the exact same visuals as the music video seen in the Latin American version of The Wiggles Show!.
- "Take a Trip Out on the Sea" is the only song to not have a prologue.
- This video did not feature a ending scene, as was usually done at the time; instead, it immediately transitions to the credits after "Take a Trip Out on the Sea".
- The Wiggles didn't say goodbye at the end of this video.
- The "好戲上場" tagline translates to "It's Showtime" in English; so the full title of the special could be translated as "Lights, Camera, Action!: It's Showtime!"
- Arthur later became a cast member for the Australian Wiggles from 2008-2014.
- This video was released after Greg Page left.
- This included the Bonus CD Sampler, which listed the artist as the 'Chinese Wiggles' when you inserted into a computer.[3]
Mistakes and Errors[]
- In the song credits, John Field's name is removed from "Vegetable Soup".
- "Joannie Works With One Hammer" is not credited as a traditional arrangement.
