"Morningtown Ride" is a Malvina Reynolds song made most famous by Australian folk pop group The Seekers.
The Wiggles covered the song on the album and video It's a Wiggly Wiggly World! in a duet with Australian-Aboriginal singer Jimmy Little.
Lyrics[]
Train whistle blowing
Makes a sleepy noise
Underneath the blankets
Go all the girls and boys
CHORUS
Rockin', rollin', ridin'
Out along the bay
All bound for Morningtown
Many miles away
Driver at the engine
Fireman rings the bell
Sandman swings the lantern
To show that all is well
CHORUS
Maybe it is raining
Where our train will ride
All the little travellers
Are warm and snug inside
CHORUS
Somewhere there is sunshine
Somewhere there is day
Somewhere there is Morningtown
Many miles away
CHORUS x 2

Trivia[]
- Following the studio rendition from IAWWW, the Wiggles have recorded themselves performing the song acoustically on several occasions, usually corresponding with important events in relation to The Seekers. These include:
- A tribute video for the Seekers' 50th anniversary in 2012.
- A get-well video for Judith Durham after she suffered a stroke in 2013 (with former red wiggle Murray Cook on bass).
- A pre-recorded video that was broadcast at Durham's state funeral in 2022, filmed during the band's then-ongoing reunion tour of New Zealand. For this performance, the original Wiggles were joined by Captain Feathersword, Lachy, Tsehay, Lucia, Caterina, Jack Gatto, and percussionist Jae Nelson.
