"Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" is a popular Christmas song written by Johnny Marks and covered by many notable singers, including Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, and The Temptations.
The Wiggles have also covered the song on several of their own albums, including the original Wiggly Wiggly Christmas and its 2017 re-recording, as well as on The Sound of Christmas.
Lyrics[]
Wiggly, Wiggly Christmas[]
Rudolf the red nosed reindeer
Had a very shiny nose
And if you ever saw it,
You would even say it glowed
All of the other reindeers
Used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Rudolf
Join in any reindeer games
Then one foggy Christmas Eve,
Santa came to say
"Rudolf with your nose so bright,
won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"
Then how the reindeer loved him
As they shouted out with glee
Rudolf the red nosed reindeer
You'll go down in history
(Alright, everyone. It's time to do a reindeer dance so put your hands above your head and bobble along like reindeers. Ah, that's great, everybody. Cool. Ah, keep on bobbling along. Uh-huh. The reindeer dance, everybody. It's fun.)
Then one foggy Christmas Eve,
Santa came to say
"Rudolf with your nose so bright,
won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"
Then how the reindeer loved him
As they shouted out with glee
Rudolf the red nosed reindeer
You'll go down in history
You'll go down in history!
The Sound of Christmas[]
You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen,
Comet and Cupid And Donner and Blitzen.
But do you recall.
The most famous reindeer of all?
Rudolf the red nosed reindeer
Had a very shiny nose
And if you ever saw it,
You would even say it glowed
All of the other reindeers
Used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Rudolf
Join in any reindeer games
Then one foggy Christmas Eve,
Santa came to say
"Rudolf with your nose so bright,
won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"
Then how the reindeer loved him
As they shouted out with glee
Rudolf the red nosed reindeer
You'll go down in history
Rudolf the red nosed reindeer
Had a very shiny nose
And if you ever saw it,
You would even say it glowed
All of the other reindeers
Used to laugh and call him names
They never let poor Rudolf
Join in any reindeer games
Then one foggy Christmas Eve,
Santa came to say
"Rudolf with your nose so bright,
won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"
Then how the reindeer loved him
As they shouted out with glee
Rudolf the red nosed reindeer
You'll go down in history
You'll go down in history!

Trivia[]
- While all versions of the song recorded by the Wiggles are available on the streaming releases of each of their respective albums, all post-1997 releases of the Wiggly, Wiggly Christmas video have taken out the original music video clip, likely due to copyright issues.
- Presumably because of these issues, the song has not been filmed at all for any subsequent tie-in video specials.
