Sprout's Dino-Mite Valentine's Sing-Along is a crossover special starring Dorothy the Dinosaur and Barney (from Barney and Friends) that originally aired on Sprout on February 14, 2010.

Plot[]

Barney and Dorothy the Dinosaur celebrate Valentine's Day together, sharing gifts and singing songs from Barney & Friends. The two dinosaurs hosted segments that would play in between episodes of their respective shows: Dorothy the Dinosaur and Barney & Friends.

Songs[]

Segments were reused throughout the three hour block, so songs were sung more than once (I Love You, like on Barney and Friends, was sung at the end as well (in a separate segment), hence why it's listed twice).

  1. I Love You
  2. If You're Happy and You Know It
  3. Everyone is Special
  4. Being Together
  5. A Friend Like You
  6. Best of Friends
  7. The Dino Dance
  8. I Love You (Reprise)

Episodes[]

  1. Barney & Friends: "Caring Hearts"
  2. Dorothy the Dinosaur: "Don the Postman"
  3. Dorothy the Dinosaur: "A Gift for Captain Feathersword"
  4. Barney & Friends: "It's a Happy Day!"
  5. Dorothy the Dinosaur: "Wags and Dorothy Have a Picnic"
  6. Dorothy the Dinosaur: "Captain Feathersword and the Hibiscus Flowers"
  7. Barney & Friends: "The Alphabet Zoo"
  8. Dorothy the Dinosaur: "Don the Postman Delivers a Parcel"
  9. Dorothy the Dinosaur: "Captain Feathersword and the Beautiful Dancing Dinosaur"

Trivia[]

  • While no Wiggles songs were performed during the block, Dorothy does sing a bit of "Rock-A-Bye Your Bear" during one of the credit lead ins.
  • Wags the Dog and Captain Feathersword are mentioned and referenced in pictures showcased in this special.
  • If You're Happy and You Know It is the only song in the block that was later sung by The Wiggles themselves in 2016.
  • This crossover is the only time Dorothy the Dinosaur's TV Series is broadcast in the USA, however, that series later began airing on The Wiggles Channel on Loop/Roku TV starting with Series 1 in December 2021
  • This is another Wiggles/Barney crossover and possibly the only one to be made when Sam was the yellow Wiggle during the five-year absence of Greg.
