The Unusual Commoners is a side project created by Anthony Field and Lachlan Gillespie that sporadically performs live during the gaps and downtime between the Wiggles' live touring schedule. The band plays Scottish, Irish, and Folk music aimed at an older, more adult demographic then that of the Wiggles' typical young audience, although they do occasionally perform some Wiggles material as well; As part of the focus on more mature crowds, the group exclusively perform in pubs and other venues that do not permit patrons that are under 18+ years old.

Field and Gillespie are currently considered to be the only official members of the group, with former Wiggles touring musicians Oliver Brian and David O' Reilly and former yellow Wiggle Emma Watkins having been members in the past, and the band often features a variety of different musicians and singers at various shows, nearly all of which have also worked with The Wiggles as either regular cast members or touring performers.

As of 2020, an official studio album by the group was in the process of being recorded[1], but as of 2024, no further update has been posted on its production progress or release date, and it has likely been scraped.
