A Hot Day at the Beach is the first episode of the third and final season of The Wiggles and Friends.
Synopsis[]
It's a hot day at Wigglehouse, so The Wiggles decide to have a day at the beach with their friends to cool off from the heat.

- Magdalena the Mermaid make a short debut cameo, though she is not named until the Wiggle Bay video. Her design is also slighty different to her final appearance.

(The episode starts with The Wiggles logo above these 4 characters in the show. Until, Greg is singing the Song: Here Come The Wiggles plays in the background, it shows their names appear in the opening sequence.)

(The title "The Wiggles and Friends" appears before transitioning to Wigglehouse. We see all four Wiggles fanning themselves as it is a very hot day)
Anthony: Wooo, it sure is hot today at Wigglehouse.
Jeff: It feels like its the hottest day of the year!
Murray: You're not wrong Jeff. Hey Greg, when's that cold change coming in?
Greg: Hopefully soon Murray. This heat is too much for me.
(The four of them think of ideas to cool down from the heat. Suddenly Jeff has an idea that's visualised with a lightbulb above his head)
Jeff: Hey Wiggles, I've got an idea!
Wiggles: What is it?
Jeff: Seeing as it's such a hot day, why don't we go down to the Wiggly Beach and have a day at there?
Greg: That's a great idea, Jeffery. Come on Wiggles, let's pack some towels and sunscreen, we're going to the beach!!
(All the Wiggles look happy and head into Wigglehouse to grab their beach towels, sunscreen and to change into their short sleeved shirts, board-shorts and beach hats. A wave transitions into the Song: Let's Spend a Day at the Beach as a montage of the group collecting and loading the Big Red Car with their beach equipment and driving to the beach)

(The Big Red Car parks near the beach and the four Wiggles get out, collecting their things. They walk down to the lifesaver flags and set up. Meanwhile, Murray sees Wags and Captain Feathersword playing in waves)
Murray: Hey Wiggles, look who's out playing in the ocean?
(the other three look up and see the Captain and his canine friend.)
Anthony: It's our old friends Captain Feathersword and Wags the Dog
(All four wave to Feathersword and Wags. Captain and Wags see the Wiggles and wave to them before swimming back to shore to greet them.)
Greg: Let's say "Ahoy there, Captain Feathersword."
Wiggles: Ahoy there, Captain Feathersword.
Captain Feathersword: Ahoy there, me hearties!
Greg: And let's also give a "Woof" to Wags.
Wiggles: Woof Wags.
Wags: Ruff
Captain Feathersword: It sure is a hot day today?
Jeff: It sure is Captain, probably the hottest day of the year!
Captain Feathersword: Well it's a good thing you decided to come to the beach, the water is just right for today.
Greg: Ah that's great! Well we'll unpack a few more things from the Big Red Car and we'll go for swim soon. We'll see you later, Captain
(Greg gives Wags a pat on the head and the four say goodbye for now. The Wiggles return to the Big Red Car and carry down some more towels, a surfboard and a BBQ, along with a cooler of food and sunscreen)
Greg: Now rememeber, because it's such a hot day, it's always good to put on some sunscreen.
Anthony: Good idea, Greg.
(All four grab four coloured bottles of sunscreen and start to rub it on)
Wiggles: (In unison after finishing) Slip, Slop, Slap.
Murray: Right Wiggles, let's go for a surf on the waves!

(The four Wiggles run down to the surf as a Seagull transitions into the Song: Having Fun At The Beach. As the song starts, we see a scene of The Wiggles are riding on their surfboard, surfing together)

(As the song ends, all four Wiggles lose balance on the board and tumble into the water, which transions back to the beach. All four shake their heads to get the water out of their ears, with very cartoony sounds)
Murray: Wow, those wave sure were big!
Anthony: (Holding his nose and blowing to get the remaining water out) But look on the bright side, at least we're not too hot anymore.
Greg: That is true, Anthony.
Jeff: Hey look, Dorothy and Henry are here too! Let's go say Hi to them.
(The four head over to Dorothy and Henry, still playing with their beach ball)
Wiggles: Hi Henry! Hi Dorothy!
Henry: Breebop! Hi there, Wiggles!
Dorothy: Hi Wiggles! Isn't it such a lovely day to spend at the beach?
Greg: It sure is Dorothy. We just came in from the surf and water was great!
(The other three Wiggles still trying to get water out from their ears)
Greg: Well... until the waves knocked us off our surfboard.
Henry: I know a great cure for water in the head, Wiggles. A nice little dance on the sand to shake it all out.
Murray: Hey that's not a bad idea Henry.
Jeff: And seeing as were all here, why don't we all have a fun dance together!
Captain Feathersword: Did someone say "Dancing"? I love to dance, especially with all my friends. C'mon Waggie boy, let's have a dance on the sand.
Wags: Ruff.
(A bounching beach ball transitions into the Song: Dancing In The Sand as the Wiggles begin to play their instruments and their friends begin to dance.)
Greg: (singing) The Wiggles are here
(Captain Feathersword: Ahoy there!)
Greg: (singing) Wags the Dog is chasing waves
And there is Dorothy drinking rosy tea
With our friend, Henry

(A transition of the S.S. Feathersword goes across the screen, as we cut back to the beach. Wags and Captain Feathersword are playing catch, Dorothy and Henry are making sandcastles and The Wiggles are sitting on in beach chairs, relaxing)
Anthony: Hey I think the waters all out of my ears.
Murray: Yeah, I don't feel it in my ears as well.
Jeff: Me too.
Greg: Henry's idea worked! Now let's remember to be careful the next time we go surfing.
(All three nod in unison. We cut to shot of Captain Feathersword looking through his telescope. He's keeping an eye on the S.S. Feathersword and also looking at the different animals on and above the ocean.)
Captain Feathersword: Ah, such wonderful animals out on the sea today. I can see the seagulls and pelicans from here. And look at the little dolphins and whales coming up to say hi. Oh I love the sea!
(Anthony and the other Wiggles enter)
Anthony: Hey Captain, what are you looking at?
Captain Feathersword: Oh, I'm just looking at all the sea creatures out on this lovely day.
(All four Wiggles look out at the ocean with Captain, each of them spots a different animal)
Murray: Look, I can see a turtle!
(Cut to a sea turtle swimming)
Greg: And I can see a school of fish!
(Cut to a school of fishes)
Jeff: I just spotted a big shark! It looks like Henry's friend, Jacques.
(Cut to Jacques playing his saxophone and waving to The Wiggles)
Anthony: And I can see a Mermaid!
(Everyone but Anthony is bewildered)
Jeff: (to camera.) Huh?
Greg: (to camera.) Huh?
Murray: (to camera.) Huh?
Captain Feathersword: (to camera.) Huh?
(The three Wiggles and Captain look confused)
Captain Feathersword: Oh Anthony, my blue friend, Mermaid's aren't real. In all my pirating years, I've never once seen a mermaid.
Anthony: (Excitedly) No Captain, look over at those rock, there's a beautiful mermard siting on them!!
(Anthony points to the rocks as Captain Feathersword takes another look. To his and the other Wiggles surprise, he sees a mermaid sitting on the rocks, singing a Sea-shanty. The mermaid notices and waves to them. The groups wave back to her, with suprised looks on their face.)
Captain Feathersword: Well Blow me Down!
(The Mermaid blows a kiss to Captain Feathersword, making him fall over in a comdelic love-struck fashion)
Captain Feathersword: (Falling) WAAAAA!!
(The Wiggles look down and help the pirate)
Greg: Captain, are you alright?
Captain Feathersword: (in a lovely-dovely daze) Oh yes, I'm fine Greg. Just fine...
(The Captain sighs as the Wiggles look out at the mermaid, who waves them goodbye and dives into the sea. They wave goodbye to the mermaid before attending back to the Captain)
Anthony: She must be a really friendly mermaid, she blow Captain Feathersword a friendly kiss!
Greg: We better help the Captain get back on his feet.
(Murray grabs the Feathersword and tickles the Captain)
Murray: This should do the trick.
(As Murray tickles Captain Feathersword, the pirate begins to laugh)
Captain Feathersword: (laughs while tickled from feathersword) Oh that tickles! Hey stop that, Murray.
(Murray stops tickling as the Captain jumps to his feet. Murray give the feathersword back to the pirate)
Captain Feathersword: Well I'll be, Mermaids are real after all!
(Jeff looks over at the sandhills)
Jeff: Hey Wiggles, let's have a play on those sandhills, I'll race you there!
(Without a second thought, Jeff runs towards the sandhills. The Wiggles look at each other for a moment before following their purple friend)
Murray: (While running after Jeff) Hey wait up, Jeff!!
Anthony: (While running after Jeff) Wait for us!!
Greg: (While running after Jeff) We'll see you later, Captain!
Captain Feathersword: See you later, me hearties! Hoo-hoo!
(A fish transitions into the song: Rolling Down The Sandhills. A scene where Greg, Anthony, Murray & Jeff are rolling down the sandhills.)

(Anthony feels his stomach as a gurgly sounds is heard. Murray and Jeff feel their stomachs and hear a gurgle)
Murray: Me too!

Greg: I know guys, let's go make some food on the barbie!
Wiggles: Great idea!
(All four Wiggles head back to their friends as the song: Let's Have A Barbie On The Beach begins)
Greg: In Australia, we love to have barbecues and we call them barbies. You know, it's lots of fun to have a barbie down on the beach with lots of food. Oh-ho-ho boy. I can't wait for the barbie on the beach.

Dorothy: And these toasted rosy sandwich!
Greg: Even Wags is enjoying this yummy steak!
(Wags is seen, biting his steak and enjoying it)
Wags: (happily) Ruff, ruff, awoo!
(As time starts to pass and the sun begins to set, the glow of a warm campfire is seen with everyone sitting around it, enjoying themselves)
Murray: Hey everyone, it's starting to cool down.
Jeff: Well we can keep warm with this campfire the Captain started.
Captain: Hoo-hoo, all that barbie food has made me full!
Anthony: Same here, Captain.
(Dorothy looks at the sunset)
Dorothy: Wow, such a lovely sunset. The perfect thing to share with your friends.
Greg: Look at the wonderful colors!
(Cut to the sky with various warm and cool colours)
All: (Sigh) Wow!
Captain: Y'know, this sunset reminds me of going out to sea in the evenings with my Pirate Crew. Oh, the fun we had on those trips.
Murray: Why don't we sing about going on a boat trip?
Greg: Great Idea, Muzza! Let's all take a trip!
(A transparent fade, leads us into the song: Take a Trip Out on the Sea. A scene where The Wiggles & their friends are telling a story about going on a boat ride at the campfire)
Greg: The weather's great. Let's go for a ride in a boat.
(singing) Won't you come along with me
We'll take a trip out on the sea
Put on our safety vests and then
Wave to all our boating friends
Row the boat out with your oar
Wiggles: (singing) Oh woah
See the seagulls how they soar
This is such a lovely day

(The campfire begins to fade as the song finishes. The instrumental: Starry Beach Sky begins to play as The Wiggles begin to pack the Big Red Car up. Jeff is fast asleep)
Anthony: (while packing) Well Wiggles, that was lots of fun!
Murray: It sure was, Anthony.
(Murray looks over at Jeff)
Murray: Oh no, Jeff's fallen asleep!
(The other three Wiggles look as Jeff is snoring and sleeping heavily)
Greg: He must have had lots of fun today. I think we better leave him.
(The others nod and hop into the Big Red Car)
Greg: We had a great time today and we hope you did too.
Anthony: We'll see you again soon.
Wiggles: (in unison) Goodbye, from The Wiggles.
(The Wiggles wiggle their fingers and drive off as the screen fades with a rainbow transition. The end credits roll over scenes from the episode as the Starry Beach Sky instrumental track continues to plays in the background)
