Magic Greg: The Hat and the Rabbit is the fifth episode of the second season of The Wiggles and Friends.
Synopsis[]
Greg is practicing his Magic tricks with Anthony when they discover a little white rabbit living inside of the Magic hat. They try to get the rabbit out of his hat but this rabbit is always a step ahead of the aspiring magician and his assistant.

- The sketches seen in this episode are retellings of the Magic skits from Series 2 of The Wiggles TV Show, particular Your Body, Nutrition, History and Imagination
- This is the only time where an element of the first cartoon designs of The Wiggles is used with the *at the time* newer cartoon iteration. This is seen with Greg using a Epiphone Sheraton II guitar while trying to get Carla out of his Magic Hat. This guitar had at that point only been seen being used by Murray in various cartoon photos from 1997 to 2000.
- This episode had a follow-up later in the season.
- This is the only episode from the series to reuse a song from a previous series. That song being Can You (Point Your Fingers And Do The Twist?) which was first seen in "The Wiggly Talent Show"

(The episode starts with The Wiggles logo above these 4 characters in the show. Until, Greg is singing the Song: Here Come The Wiggles plays in the background, it shows their names appear in the opening sequence.)

Greg: (singing) Dancing with their friends
Dorothy: (She giggles.) Heee heee heee.
Wiggles: (singing) It's the Wiggles, it's the Wiggles

Captain Feathersword: Ahoy there.
Greg: (singing) We'd like you to clap and sing and dance along too
Now that everybody's here,
Wiggles: (singing) That'll be so easy, that'll be so easy

(The title "The Wiggles and Friends" appears. We see Anthony, Murray and Jeff sitting in the lounge room of Wigglehouse. Murray is strumming on an acoustic guitar, Anthony is munching on some food and Jeff is asleep in his armchair. While he's eatting his food, Anthony can hear Greg muttering from the kitchen. Curious, he gets up to see what he's doing. When Anthony arrives in the kitchen, we see Greg practing a magic trick involving a carrot and his magic hat.)
Anthony: Hi Greg, whatcha doing?
(Greg is a little frustrated and puzzled with his trick)
Greg: Oh hi Anthony, I'm just practicing some magic tricks for the next Wiggles show. The only problem is that I can't seem to get this trick right.
Anthony: Would you like some assistance?
Greg: Sure! That would be wonderful.
Anthony: So what's the first trick?
Greg: Well it involves this carrot. (He's giving a carrot to Anthony.) Now, just hold this, if you please.
(Anthony holds the carrot and starts to feel hungry)
Anthony: Mmm. What a delicious-looking carrot.
Greg: It's not for you. It's for the rabbit.
Anthony: The rabbit?
Greg: Well that's the next part of the trick. See, what you're to do now is to just hold it over the hat, like so.
Anthony: (nodding) Mhm
Greg: Move it slowly over the hat. And I'll get my magic wand... Oh, wrinkled rabbits! Where did I put my magic wand? Uh, keep your eye on that carrot, now.
Anthony: OK then, I'll keep an eye on the carrot.
(Greg leaves to look for his magic wand. Anthony keeps a close eye on the hat, when Murray enters to kitchen and grabs some fruit salad. Anthony's eyes follow the fruit salad as Carla the rabbit pops up and grabs the carrot. When Anthony looks back at the hat, he sees that carrot is missing)
Anthony: Hey! Well... w-w... (to viewer) Did you see who took the carrot? A little white rabbit?
(Greg re-enters with his Magic Wand)
Greg: I find my magic wa... (The rabbit disappeared.) What happened to the carrot?! Did you eat the carrot?
Anthony: Oh no Greg, I didn't eat the carrot.
Greg: (to viewer) What's that? It was the rabbit? Oh well, we'd better try the trick again.
(Greg hands a second carrot to Anthony)
Greg: Here you are. Use a carrot and don't eat it.
(Anthony nods and moves the carrot around the hat. The two watch patiently, waiting for the rabbit to pop out. As the two watch the hat, a yawning Jeff enters to grab a glass on water)
Jeff: (yawning) Hi guys.
Greg and Anthony: Hi Jeff
Jeff: Bye, guys.
Greg and Anthony: Bye Jeff.
(As they look back, they breify see Carla pop up and take the carrot from Anthony's hand. This catches them off guard.)
Greg: The little white rabbit!
(Carla then disappears into the hat once again. Both Wiggles are disapointed)
Greg: (snaps finger in frustation) Ah fiddle sticks! We weren't quick enough.
(As Anthony pats Greg on the shoulder, a tiny burp comes from the hat and a carrot top flies up and lands on Greg's head. Anthony looks down the hat)
Anthony: Pardon you.
(A voice responds back)
Carla: Thank you!
(Greg and Anthony look at each other in shock)
Greg and Anthony: (to camera) Huh?!
(A flower transitions into the song Anthony talking about to meet one of his favourite friends.)
Anthony: We'd like you to meet a friend of ours, who's not a person like you or me. She's a dinosaur, and her name is Dorothy the Dinosaur. Now, Dorothy is a very friendly dinosaur. She's green She's got yellow spots. She wears a white floppy hat. But best of all, she loves to eat roses. Dorothy also loves to sing this. She sings... "Romp Bomp a Chomp. Romp Bomp a Chomp..." Can you try that with us? Let's try. "Romp Bomp a Chomp. Romp Bomp a Chomp." That's great. Now, here's a song about the first time that we met Dorothy the Dinosaur.
(Song: Dorothy the Dinosaur. A scene where Greg is going to sing about Dorothy through memories of the Younger Wiggles dicovering her.)
Greg: (singing) I was looking out my window late the other night She was sitting in the garden and gave me such a fright Eating all Mum's roses there in the moonlight It was Dorothy the Dinosaur
Dorothy: (She giggles.)

(A magic hat transition to Greg holding a carrot cake as he feeds with his rabbit.)
Greg: Hopefully this will work. Yum, yum, yum. Try a little bit of this. Come on, little rabbit. (He smooches to come out of his hat.)
Anthony: (He arrives while opening the fridge that the carrot cake is gone.) Where's my carrot cake?
Greg: Shh!
Anthony: What are you doing with my cake?!
Greg: Well, I couldn't find anymore carrots.
Anthony: Well, I used them to make the cake.
Greg: Sorry. Come on. Breakfast.
Anthony: You're not going to feed it to the rabbit?
Greg: Don't worry. I'm not going to feed it to him. I'm just trying to coax him out.
Anthony: Not with my cake!
Greg: Don't worry. I'm not going to feed it to... (Anthony grabs the carrot cake, until he dropped to feed the rabbit inside his hat.) Oops.
Anthony: The rabbit ate my cake!
Greg: Oh, great. Now I'll never be able to pull him out. He'll be too heavy!
(A finger-waggling transitions into the song: Can You (Point Your Fingers And Do The Twist?). A scene with The Wiggles and Friends performing the titular dance)
Greg: Alright, everybody, let's all get ready to point our fingers and we'll do the twist. Here we go.
(singing) Can you point your fingers and do the twist?
Anthony: Everybody's twisting, Greg.
Greg: (singing) Can you point your fingers and do the twist?
Anthony: We're all doing the twist.
Wiggles: (singing) Well, we're gonna go up, then go down
Get back up and turn around

Anthony: What's next, Greg? what's next?
Greg: (singing) Can you stand on one foot and shake your hands?
Murray: Oh boy, that's hard.

Wiggles: (singing) Now we're gonna go up, then go down

(a flower coming out of a Magic wand tranisions back to the kitchen. We see Anthony arriving with a bunch of bananas to cheer Greg up.)
Anthony: Here you go, Greg. Some delicious bananas to cheer you up.
(He hands Greg a banana and eats his own)
Anthony: Mmm. (The banana threw away.)
Greg: Thank you, Anthony.
(Greg starts to count the banana under his breath)
Greg: Two, three, four. Hmm...
Anthony: Something wrong with the bananas, Greg?
Greg: Oh, no no. There's nothing wrong with them. It's just that um... We had five and now there's only four.
Anthony: Well you're not going to eat the rest, are you?
Greg: Oh, no no. I'm just having the one. The rest are for my rabbit.
Anthony: Rabbit? Oh, right. You still can't get it to come out?
(Greg nods his head)
Greg: Oh, it'll come out this time. You see, I'm going to use a banana to tempt it. Rabbits love bananas. OK
(Greg and Anthony wait for the rabbit to pop out again)
Greg: Come on, rabbit. (Anthony eats a banana) Come on, rabbit. Look at the yummy, wummy banana.
(Greg can hear munchy sounds and looks over to see Anthony eating a banana)
Greg: Anthony! What are you doing with the banana?!
Anthony: Sorry, Greg. But I love bananas.
(The rabbit comes out of the hat and grabs the banana from Greg's hand)
Greg: Oh. (Greg is shocked about the bananas) Where did it go?! I had the banana on my hat?! (to viewer) Do you know who took my banana? Well someone ate that last banana and... G-g-grab it? Habit? What did you say?
Anthony: I think they're saying 'rabbit!'
(Carla pops up again with a banana peel covering her head)
Carla: Help! I can't see!
(Greg spots the rabbit and tries to catch it while Anthony grabs the peel off her face)
Anthony: There you go, little Rabbit.
Carla: Thank You!
(Just as Greg is about to catch Carla when he zips back into the hat, causing Greg to accidently knock the hat of the table. We see the hat fall to the floor, followed by two rabbits feet popping out and running off with the hat. Greg covers his head in embarrassment)
Anthony: Better luck next time, Greg.
(Anthony grabs a banana and offers it to Greg)
Anthony: Care for a Banana?
(Greg looks up and takes the banana but is still sad about the rabbit. Until a fruit bowl transitions to the Song: Walk. We cut to Greg talking about the many different ways people move)
Greg: You know, there are lots of different ways that we could move about. Dorothy the Dinosaur's walking and eating some roses. (He laughs.) Captain Feathersword is running to his pirate ship.
Captain Feathersword: Who-ho-ho-ho!
(Henry walks by the camera, waving to the audience.)
Greg: Henry the Octopus is... w... walking to the ocean to... to have a swim. (Wags runs by, looking around for some bones.) Wags... Wags the Dog is running to dig up some bones. (Jeff sleepwalks past the camera.) And... Jeff... well, Jeff's sleepwalking. He's always asleep. Jeff? Come back here, Jeff. Wake up, Jeff! Wake up!
(The song: Walk then begins to play with The Wiggly Group all doing the different movements)
Greg: Get ready to...
The Other Wiggles: (singing) Walk,
Greg: (singing) On your way to school

(A magic hat transition to Greg and Anthony doing the magic tricks on the table)
Greg: It's no use, Anthony. I'll never get that that rabbit to come out of the hat.
Anthony: I wish I could think of a way.
Greg: We've tried everything.
Anthony: Don't be discouraged, Greg. There's always a solution to every problem.
Greg: Not this time.
Anthony: Never give up. That's what I always say. I'm going to try and think of an idea.
Greg: Good luck. (He puts the magic wand away. Then Anthony thinks about it)
Anthony: Aha! (He laughs)
Greg: Whoa! Take it easy, Anthony.
(They all stand up behind the window)
Anthony: I've thought of an idea!
Greg: You have? What?
Anthony: Well, come over here, where the rabbit can't hear you. (They look out the window) Now, here's the idea. (He whispers and they both whisper while they come back)
Greg: Do you think it will work?
Anthony: Yes. Try it. (He leaves to get the clothes for the music) This time, Greg's going to do it. He's going to get the rabbit to come out of the hat! (He laughs)
Greg: (He arrives while pretending to be Elvis) Well, I thank you. Thank you very much.
Anthony: Greg, Greg, Greg! (He whispers) The hat. The hat.
Greg: Oh, yeah. (He clears his throat and plays the guitar while singing Elvis-styled music) Hey there, little rabbit, why don't you come out of that hat? I said hey there, little rabbit, why don't you come out of that hat? Well, if you don't come out, I'm going to see about that. Uh-huh-huh. (Carla disappears in the hat. Soon flowers and cheers can be seen and heard coming out of the hat.)
Anthony: Greg, it sounds like there are hundreds and thousands of rabbits coming towards the music!
Greg: Quick! Let's go!
Anthony: Yes! Oooh, boy!
(Anthony and Greg take the hat and guitar with them, as we transision into the song: Shaky Shaky. A scene where The Wiggles are going to do some shaking.)
Greg: We're going to do a song all about shaking now. But before we do, we need to get into our shaking clothes!. Are you ready? 1, 2, 3!
(The Wiggles snap their fingers & their shaking clothes magically come on as the song starts.)
Greg: (singing) Hey there, shaky shaky
Shaking is fun to do

Well...then...shake a little faster.

(instrumental break.)
Greg: Keep on shaking.

Greg: Keep on shaking now.

(A tranision shot of Carla hopping leads to Murray and Jeff sitting the lounge room)
Murray: Hey Jeff, have you seen Greg and Anthony? They've been gone for a while.
Jeff: I think Anthony was helping Greg with his magic tricks.
(Just as Jeff says this, a little rabbit hops onto his head. Both are startled)
Murray: Jeff there's a rabbit on your head!
(Jeff reaches and picks the rabbit of his head. As he does this, the rabbit jumps out of his hands and hops away.)
Jeff: I wonder where he came from?
(The two Wiggles get up and follow the rabbit into the kitchen. When they arrive they are suprised to find a small mountain of rabbits in the kitchen)
Jeff: Where did these rabbits from?!
Murray: And where's Greg and Anthony?!
(Suddenly, a muffled two voice comes from underneath the pile of rabbits)
Anthony: (muffled) Help! We're under the rabbits, get us out!
Greg: (muffled) If anyone's there, can you please get help?
(Murray and Jeff head to the pile and start to move the rabbits away. After removing some of the rabbits, they find Greg and Anthony underneath and pull them out)
Greg: Thanks Murray!
Murray: What happened? Where did these rabbits come from?
Anthony: Well, Greg was trying to get this rabbit to come out of his hat and we'd been trying for ages. So I had the idea if Greg sang to the rabbit, we'd be able to see it outside of the hat. And well... turns out there was more than one rabbit inside the hat.
Jeff: How are we going to get the rabbits back inside the hat?
(They all think for a moment when Greg gets an idea. Grabbing his guitar, he plays another Elvis-style song, this time about getting the rabbits inside his hat. As he sings this, all the rabbits begin to dance and groove back into the hat)
Greg: Hey there, little rabbit, why don't you hop back in that hat? I said hey there, little rabbit, why don't you hop back in that hat? And, if you don't hop back, I'm going to see about that. Uh-huh-huh.
(Carla is the last rabbit to hop back into the hat. She waves goodbye to The Wiggles before zipping back into the hat. Anthony goes to pick up then hat. All four look down into the hat)
Anthony: Well Greg, looks like all you needed was a little music to get the rabbit out.
Greg: Maybe next time, I'll practice outside.
(All four Wiggles laugh joyfully as a colourful transitions to the end credits are rolling. While the instrumental track of Walk is playing in the background)
