Summer is an episode of Wiggly World.

Synopsis[]

It's a hot summer day in Wiggle World, The Wiggles are going to the beach for a swim, but Dorothy is worried and little bit scared about swimming, so The Wiggles encourage her to try new things.

Greg: Boy, it must be the hottest day of the year here in Wiggle World.

Murray: It sure is Greg, I wish there was some way to cool down.

(The doorbell rings.)

Wiggles: Come in.

Dorothy: (She walks in wiping her sweat with a yellow towel.) Hi, Wiggles.

Wiggles: Hi, Dorothy.

Dorothy: It's such a hot day today.

Jeff: It sure is Dorothy, we tried to cool off with the air conditioner, but it's broken.

Anthony: Hey guys, I know how we can cool off, we can go to the beach.

Greg: Great idea, Anthony.

Dorothy: Then, let's hit the beach.

(The Wiggles and Dorothy run to the front door but then stop)

Anthony: Hang on a second guys, before we go to the beach, we need wide brimmed sun hats and sunscreen

Murray: You're right Anthony, sun hats and sunscreen is the best way to protect ourselves from the sun

Dorothy: (she giggles) well, I'm already wearing my hat with a wide brim, and I've got a bottle of sunscreen right here

Jeff: Wow Dorothy, that's great planning ahead

Dorothy: Thanks Jeff

Anthony: I'll tell you what, while we put on our hats and sunscreen, have a look at this

(Anthony flicks on the TV to the song: Having Fun At The Beach.)

Greg: Well, all our beach supplies are ready.

Murray: We've put on our sunscreen and hats

Anthony: And I've already had my lunch, let's go swimming out in the water!

Murray and Greg: Yeah!

Jeff: (He Yawns) I'll join you guys later, I'm gonna sneak in a nap.

Murray: Ok Jeff, come on guys! (With Greg and Anthony) let's go!

(Jeff is about to fall asleep in his chair when he notices that Dorothy hasn't joined the other wiggles)

Jeff: Aren't you going to join them Dorothy?

Dorothy: Um, I-I'd rather stay here with you Jeff. I prefer a nap over swimming anyway.

Jeff: Hey, is everything OK Dorothy? You're not usually the one to miss out on all the fun.

Dorothy: Well to tell you the truth, I never went swimming before, and I'm a bit worried that I won't like swimming.

Jeff: You've never gone swimming?

Dorothy: Not even once. I've never even swam out there to meet Henry the Octopus. I always wait until he's on the shore.

Jeff: Speaking of Henry, look over there!

Henry: Breebop!

(Fish transition to the Song Swim Henry Swim. A scene where Greg sings a song about Henry who likes to swim.)

Greg: (singing) We have a friend a special friend

(Henry: Breebop!)

Greg: (singing) Asking what he loves to do

And he will tell you so

(Henry: Yoop.)

Greg: (singing) His name is Henry the Octopus

Jeff (with a Happy mood) & Dorothy (sad mood): Hi Henry.

Henry: What brings you here?

Jeff: The rest of the Wiggles are swimming, We're just here to relax.

Murray, Greg and Anthony arriving back to Jeff and Dorothy on shore

Henry: Hi Wiggles!

Anthony, Murray, and Greg: Hi Henry.

Anthony: Jeff, Dorothy! Is everything OK? We've been waiting for you out in the water for ages!

Dorothy: Well, you see, um, I'm not in the mood for a swim today

Anthony: Huh?

Murray: Huh?

Greg: Huh? Why not?

Dorothy: Well you see, (she pretends to cough) I think i'm catching a cold, Ah, Achoo! (she pretends to sneeze)

Anthony: Huh?

Greg: Huh?

Murray: Huh?

Murray: (feeling Dorothy's forehead) You don't feel hot to me.

Jeff: Hey, hang on a minute. That's not what you told me. It's OK to tell them what's going on Dorothy.

Dorothy: Okay, I admit it, the truth is I've never went swimming before, and I'm a bit scared to swim.

Greg: Oh, is that all? Well you know Dorothy, trying new things can be so much fun!

Dorothy: You think so?

Anthony: Oh Yes, I'll tell you what? why don't we give you swimming lessons!

Jeff: Yeah, and We Have Henry Here to Help! He's Very Good at Swimming, We'll Have You Swimming In No Time!

The Wiggles and Henry all agree.

Dorothy: Well, Alright

(The Wiggles and Henry lead Dorothy to the sea to get her to swim as it transitions to the New Jersey Concert for the song: Can You (Point Your Fingers And Do The Twist?))

Greg: Alright, everybody, let's all get ready to point our fingers and we'll do the twist. Here we go! (singing) Can you point your fingers and do the twist?

Anthony: Everybody's twisting, Greg.

Greg: (singing) Can you point fingers and do the twist?

Anthony: We're all doing the twist!

Wiggles: (singing) Now, we're gonna go up, then go down. Get back up and turn around. Can you point your fingers and do the twist?

Anthony: What's next, Greg?

Greg: (singing) Can you stand on one foot and shake your hands?

Murray: Oh boy, that's hard.

Greg: Yeah. (singing) Can you stand on one foot and shake your hands?

Murray: Shaky, shaky.

Wiggles: (singing) Now, we're gonna go up, then go down. Get back up and turn around. Can you stand on one foot and shake your hands?

Anthony: What's next, Greg?

Greg: (singing) Can you point your fingers and do the twist?

Jeff: Pointy, pointy, pointy, pointy!

Greg: (singing) Can you point fingers and do the twist?

Anthony: Everybody's doing the twist!

Wiggles: (singing) Now, we're gonna go up, then go down. Get back up and turn around. Can you point your fingers and do the twist?

Greg: Cha-cha-cha! (Song ends & audience applaud.) Give yourselves a big clap! That was great twisting, everyone! Well done.

(a bubble transition to Henry and Dorothy in the Water and the Wiggles on the dock)
