"The Wiggles (Pre-TV Series)" was the first Wiggles series. It was also known as "The Wiggles".
The series was produced mainly in 1996 and aired in 1997. This series featured songs from Big Red Car, Wake Up Jeff!, and Wiggledance!, as well as older songs re-shot outdoors or in a set similar to the Big Red Car Tour stage.
Series Info[]
Although the series was filmed by The Wiggles in 1996 after they finished Wake Up Jeff!, The Wiggles had adapted into a television series in Early 1997. The original series was on Channel 9 (which is the original station) since 1997, but since 1999, it was shown on ABC TV and earlier on Channel 7. It was the only Wiggles TV Series to never be aired on Playhouse Disney. This series was also released on DVD. It was succeeded by another series of the same name: The Wiggles (TV Series 1).

Variations[]
- It's thought that each of these 11-minute episodes listed were originally split into two 5-minute episodes when first aired on Channel 9 and Channel 7. Supporting this theory is the fact that every episode from both seasons has a song or skit end at 30 seconds after 5-minutes, where they would have been cut. However, this could also just be where a commercial break would have been placed. If they were originally cut down to 5-minutes, this is likely where the ABC airings of these series (which were 5-minute cuts) came from.
Opening[]
The opening was similar to the Wiggledance! opening but longer.
Format[]
Songs[]
There are at least two songs, a concert song (taken from Wiggledance!) and one televised one. These songs feature the titles similar to Wiggle Time!. Songs were mostly featured from the previous few videos (Big Red Car, Wake Up Jeff! and Wiggledance!).
Numbers Rhumba, Teddy Bear Hug and Baby Baluga were only featured in the original airing due to the Wiggles updating the songs in later years.
Officer Beaples[]
Officer Beaples made his/her TV debut in this TV Series. It was replaced by Kaz the Cat in later versions.
Wigglehouse[]
Looking much like the Wigglehouse from Yummy Yummy with other features, these involve the main story. Even with the same design.
Dorothy the Dinosaur Rosy Show[]
Dorothy the Dinosaur shows the viewer her garden and what she usually does.
Henry the Octopus' Waterful Show[]
Featuring Henry the Octopus and Captain Feathersword as they go to places like the Captain's Dockyard, Henry's Place, Pirate Park, Slow Street and The Beach.

Trivia[]
- The Wigglehouse is the same house from Yummy Yummy but it now has more features and is now called "Wigglehouse".
- The door never talked until the Wiggles Movie later in 1997.
- In the 13th episode, Captain Feathersword was played by Anthony in a Henry the Octopus Waterful Show episode. Later when the Captain cleaned the deck on the SS Feathersword, Paul Paddick started playing Captain Feathersword that he did for the rest of the series. It could have been possible that this was filmed before Wake Up Jeff in Early 1996.
- Kaz the Cat and the Officer Beaples segments are in the same part of the episode, so they made 26 episodes to fit them in for Officer Beaples segments first and the Kaz the Cat second. But the Kaz the Cat was also the replacement for Officer Beaples segments.
- The Underwater Big Band only appears as cameos in Wigglehouse, the Songs and the Goodbye Dances.
- Captain Feathersword doesn't appear in the Goodbye Dance at the end of the 6th, 9th and 13th episodes.
- Unlike the other seasons, 5-minute versions of 26 episodes used to be on Channels 9 and 7.
- As a side note, the 11 minute versions were split in half to make 26 5 minute episodes.
Home Video Releases[]
Neither series was ever given a DVD release, however, in summer of 1998, a VHS compilation were released containing the first 9 episodes of each series (11-minute versions). It was released in Australia and the VHS is currently out of print. And in 2004, It was released with all 13 episodes on DVD. In the USA, it was released by Nick Jr. & Paramount with the same previews as Blue's Clues Arts & Crafts & Story Time.
