Trivia[]
- This was the first album to have Paul Paddick provide vocals for Captain Feathersword (partially sharing the role with Anthony Field), and the last to have Murray Cook provide vocals for Dorothy the Dinosaur.
- This was also the first album to feature Paddick as a songwriter, with him having co-written the album's title track.
- Anthony Field provided the character vocals for Santa Claus.
- This was the last studio album to feature Greg Page as a guitarist. Page would later play guitar on the concert albums LIVE Hot Potatoes! and Celebration!.
- "Reindeer Express" was the only song on the album that did not appear in the tie-in video special.
- Inversely, the song "Here Comes Santa Claus", which was featured in the video, did not appear on the album.
- This was the first album to be engineered by Alex Keller.
- The liner notes of the North American release contained slight differences in some of the song titles to better distinguish them from other songs:
- "Ding Dong Merrily on High" and "Jeff's Christmas Tune" had the term "Instrumental" added to their names.
- "With a Shiny Red Nose", "If You See Santa", "Shepherds", "Peace and Joy to Everyone", "Breebop Poem", "Pirate Food Poem" and "Wags Ate the Rags" had the term "Spoken" added to their names and received dialogue transcripts.
- The liner notes of the original Australian release used a common German spelling of "Rudolf" for the title of "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" while the North American and United Kingdom releases used the original English name of "Rudolph".
- The United Kingdom release of the album was a "Special Edition" containing the compilation album Christmas Classics as bonus tracks at the end (the only difference is "Noche De Paz (Silent Night)" being moved to the last track).
- To accommodate, the songs "Felice Navidad", "Jingle Bells" and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" (which appear on both) were skipped as part of the main album and didn't appear until the bonus tracks. However, for unknown reasons, "Unto Us, This Holy Night" was not skipped, thus it appeared twice as tracks 10 and 25, as did "Away in a Manger" (with its version from Santa's Rockin'!) and "Silent Night" (with "Noche De Paz", also from Santa's Rockin!)
- When released on Spotify, "Unto Us, This Holy Night" only appeared as track 10 (the cover art was changed to reflect this, stating 9 bonus tracks instead of 10), and to differentiate the two "Away in a Manger" tracks, the Wiggly, Wiggly Christmas version was called the "Acoustic" version, and the Santa's Rockin'! version was called the "Long" version.

Mistakes and Errors[]
- Rex Kelaher's surname was misspelled as "Kelleher" in the liner notes of the original Australian release and misspelled as "Kellehr" In the liner notes of the North American release.
- In the liner notes of the original Australian release:
- F" Field is credited for "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" rather than "A"(nthony) Field.
- "Away in a Manger" was not credited as a traditional arrangement.
- The word "Christmas" was absent from the title of "Wags is Bouncing Around the Christmas Tree"
- The 1999 Australian re-release did not update the publishing credits for "Have a Very Merry Christmas", "Go Santa Go" and "Unto Us, This Holy Night".
